  We always come here and the service has been ok - just average. Last week we came in around 8pm and the restaurant was less than half full. No one was at the reception and one of the kitchen staff nodded to signal for us to take a seat so we did. No one came to acknowledge us so we went to get our own tea as it is self service. One of the waitresses came up to me and snapped at me saying that I can't just sit myself down at their tables, but its ok tonight since they aren't busy. I must wait at the reception to be seated. I explained that we did wait at the reception when we came in but there was no one there and she repeated herself and said we can't just choose a table ourself. I find this absolutely appalling. We still had our meal there and she avoided eye contact for the whole night and did not apologise. I think re-training is necessary.
