  I had a horror experience at Long Drive Moror Services several years ago.
  It was quite a long time ago approx 5+ years, but the memory still burns deep in my mind.
  
  I took my Landrover to this mechanic, with the specific instructions that the Head Gasket was blown and I asked for a quote.
  
  The owner of the shop said he would have a look at it.
  He called me back to say that the engine was totally stuffed and he had a reconditioned one available for $4,500, and also to keep my old engine. My response was that i wanted to take it for another opinion.
  When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, It was no where to be seen and he would not give me the car back without me paying a few hundred dollars, he said he had done a compression test but could not provide me a copy of the results.
  He had hidden the car at a residential address and was holding me to ransom.
  
  I was forced to pay him and then took the vehicle to another mechanic who confirmed my initial thoughts that it only needed a head gasket.
  The end price was circa $1,200 and the engine has since run without a hitch for many years now, and i would never return to that mechanic again.
